Qualifying as a solicitor in 1997 with Linklaters, Stephen has a wealth of experience and knowledge to offer. In the past he has helped funds, banks, and corporations during the Global Financial Crisis with their exposure to distressed leveraged finance and private equity structures.

Stephen provided advice on bank restructurings as well as on SIVs and CMBS, among other structured finance instruments. Stephen managed the European Restructuring unit at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe after spending eight years as a partner at White & Case. After a brief experience with a boutique barrister-style solicitors' practise, he founded FreiLibertas Law in 2022.
